RAPID METHOD OF MEMORIZING VOCABULARY SINCE FROM CHILDREN EARLY

Capability in use English has become the demands of the times of necessity. We can see at several of international school using English as language introduction in studying activities in the class, and more institute of course that prepare the opportunity for every people to learn English and it is for all age included children from 4 until 8 years. It’s very important to all parents know that English is very necessary to prepare their children in order to can endure and capable the competition in the future. So, writer will discuss about the Rapid method of memorizing vocabulary

Taught English to the children is not easy. Taught English to the children will need some methods,certainly it’s not same with taught English to the teenagers or adult. But, with created kinds of methods that’s very fun in learning English will made all parents don’t feel difficulty to give the best facility in learning English to their children. Parents are taughter also best guidance for their children. Although the children’s school is best school, international school or favorite school, if the surroundings of their family are not support, so the education at the school will be useless.

At young age, learning English are better begin from foundation of knowledge English it self. Such as studying to knowing and memorizing vocabulary and taught as their world or we usually call “studying while playing”. Playing here is mean appropriate with their world that disposed far from pressure with using the media that was like by students.

The important is never to force children to learn English. Taught them that every process of study that they do will be benefit for their live at the future. If the childrenare difficult to understanding, create the situation that very fun in order to their studying with comfortable and happy.

The benefit of this discuss are know the necessary taught English since from children early and learning vocabulary are very important. Besides that, we can create how to memorize vocabulary and applying the rapid methods in memorizing vocabulary.

CHAPTER II

RESEARCH

A.    English should be taught Since From Children

“A children that has been taught from beginning, so the children will be successes at the future. And the other way, if taught children was failed, so, the first life of children is beginning to dissolved.” Gadner (1975:89)

The reason why learning English since from early are very important because based on children and teenagers has a process to shaped characters of everyone.

Some specialist said that the gold period a human is when they still at children period. The opinion of gold period as amazing period that just happened once in our life. It cause period of children will be not go back again in life.

From 4-8 years old are constitute when quickly of breed capably of main task in speaking is adding vocabulary, capably adding saying word, and combine the word become sentence. Some examination showed that the children’s capability of vocabulary is quick rise when they study new words and new sense. The children when 4-8 years old are commonly already capable say more of 2500 vocabulary.

B.     Learning Vocabulary Is Very Important.

“Without Grammar,it very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary, it nothing can be conveyed.” David Wilkins (2002:13)

The opinion of David Wilkins are marked that the important of vocabulary. Although we have ability of grammar, but the capability are useless if we not have enough of capability of vocabulary. Although an expert in certain field of English grammar are very smart, it’s not useful without have capability of vocabulary.

As evidence maybe we usually heard the complaint like this:

“Uh, I feel difficult to speaking English, just a little vocabulary that I have.”

“How I can speaking English very well, because my vocabulary are little.

Hatch and Brown (1995), review five step that important in learning vocabulary. there are:

a.       Have source for meet with new words

b.      Have explicit image such as visual or audio concerning the form of new words

c.       Studying the mean of the words

d.      Have a relationship of strong memorizing between form and the meaning of new words

e.       Use the words

C.    The Manner Of Memorizing Vocabulary

1.      Using sticker at the object

To memorizing vocabulary, it will be better give named in English to the objects in group based on room, activities, place, etc. Then the names adhered at the appropriate object. For example the object that have related with bedroom such as “pillow”, “bedroom”, “blanket”, etc. and more of object that can using to become exercise such as chair, table, television, T-shirt, hat, pants, etc.

           Memorizing from dictionary is not suggest because will be found difficulty. It caused by dictionary is arranged based on alphabet and not in one group. For example, after word of stamp, you will met still, stone, etc. it’s difficult for memorize.

2.      Using the song

More suggestion when taught vocabulary will be better if well crated with song, especially for they that very like song and like sing a song. Certainly the song that use is English song children version. Will be better if usually use in the class.

3.         Pass through of games

The next method that popular and usually used by children or students is learning vocabulary pass through of games.

We all know the world of children is world games, until in activity of taught usually kept with game, included taught vocabulary.

One of example is game Chicktionary Lite. This game is very easy to playing and made the children addiction playing the game. Of course benefit addiction because with not immediately they will play while studying vocabulary. 4.      Using Flash Card

The other method that can use in taught English is using flash card media.

Based on Diyah E. opinion (2012), flash card is a media of learning in form of pictured card. The pictures are made with hand or photography result, or using the benefit of picture or photo that was adhered at flash card sheet.

The picture at flash card is arranged of message which offering with grafted information of picture at behind part of every picture, because children or students are considered memorize material with using visual media. Based on the researched of Ekopeum (2007:2), taught and learning activity will be effective and easy if was help by visual tool that 11% learnedbeyond of audio sensoring, whereas 83% beyond of visual sensory.

CHAPTER III

CONCLUSION

English should be taught to children early, so used to it and can master the English language can gradually as early debriefing that when adolescents are able to develop and be able to develop more quickly. In the English language should be taught from first base, from his vocabulary, and his introduction of customized vocabulary with words that are often spoken or used. In addition, there are several methods that can be used to taught vocabulary in children and easy to understand so that they are easy to memorize.
